MedUKCare is a domiciliary care provider specialising in the provision of high-quality live-in carers for elderly and vulnerable adults who require support and wish to remain in the comfort of their own home. From our base in Surrey, we can help clients across the country to remain independent at home, permitting them to enjoy the things they have always loved to do, with the people and things they care about, in a safe and secure environment.
We support a range of needs, including complex conditions of Dementia, Autism, Parkinson’s, and other health needs including Mental Health.
We work to provide an environment that supports the whole person—mind and heart, as well as body.
From support for those living with different types of dementia, the elderly, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, or those with complex medical needs, live-in care allows you to receive person-centred care and one-to-one support in your home.
If you need some support at home with personal tasks such as getting washed and dressed or getting around your home and doing daily tasks, there is help available with live-in care, enabling you to retain your independence and live at home.
A professional healthcare assistant will move in to help you or your loved one with everything from personal care to cooking, cleaning and running errands.
Working in teams of two, our carers provide 24/7 round the clock assistance to you or your loved one in the comfort of your own home. After the initial care assessment, MedUKCare will create a Care Plan for the carers to follow when they will look after you. Your carers main duties can be, but are not limited to: Personal care, Cooking, Medication assistance, Cleaning, Working with your GP or Community Nurse, Mobility support, Companionship.
In order to comply with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulations, MedUKCare’s healthcare assistants go through extensive employment checks before starting work, including enhanced DBS checks. Care Training is mandatory, and all carers have up to date trainings including ‘The Care Certificate Course’, COVID-19 Infection Prevention and control, Manual Handling, Basic Life Support, Medication Practice for Domiciliary Care and many more specific trainings like: Dementia, Autism and End-of-life.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is a body that regulates care provision in the UK for both care homes and domiciliary care (home care) providers, as well as GP practices, hospitals and dentists. They review each care agency and set strict standards which providers have to adhere to. MedUKCare is proud of our CQC registration status and we work hard to keep the care standards high in line with CQC guidelines.
To contact adult social services, go on to the council’s website. You can call them yourself or ask a friend or relative to do so for you. If your needs are complex you should ask for a face-to-face assessment in your own home. Once the home care assessment is completed, the council will tell you whether your needs are high enough to qualify for support from them.
You’ll have a financial assessment to see whether you will have to pay towards the cost of services. The council may arrange these services for you or give you the money they are going to contribute towards your care, so that you can arrange the services yourself. This is called a direct payment.
Helping and caring for a person that you love all the time, can be exhausting, upsetting and isolating without the right help in place. But MedUKCare is here to offer practical support, advice and reassurance. We can provide flexible support that is adapted to suit you or your loved one’s changing needs, be that 24-hour live-in care, or a short-term respite service.
Familiarity, regular routines and being cared for at home can slow the progression of many common medical conditions like dementia symptoms.
Live-in care enables anyone with care needs to continue living in their own home with the assistance and support of a live-in carer.
It is important we understand your routine so that we can arrange care around your needs. Our live-in carers can be amazing but they will need 2 hours of breaks at a time that is suitable in the day so that they can relax and have some ‘me’ time.
For each of our live-in clients we allocate two carers that work in shifts to give you and your family much needed consistency.
In your first week a live-in carer moves in with you and your family. This week is a completely risk-free trial and if you are happy, then the carer can stay and care continues with the same carer.
After 4 weeks (this length of time is flexible to your preferences) supporting you the carer will have a break and the second carer will take over and help you stay home.
With the help and support of our carefully selected carers you will have the opportunity to live your life as you would like to do so, at home.
Whether you’re looking for companionship for a relative or you have some specific health needs that mean you require extra support, live-in care provides a full-time solution and is a realistic and affordable alternative to moving into a care home. By living in your home, our care workers can help you to live independently.
The cost of live-in care is very much dependent on the care needs of the person or persons being supported and their preferences. So, how much does live-in care cost?
Our prices are broken down into three categories depending on the care that is required.
Live-in Care (24-hour home care) -Starts from £99 to £150/day depending on your care needs.
